Song no. 1 first performed by Mary Wiegold, soprano, with the Composers Ensemble at The Assembly Rooms in Ludlow on 20 July 1996. Song no. 3, 'In valleys green and still', was premiered by Felicity Lott with the Nash Ensemble at the Wigmore Hall on 21 November 2010.
